Saturday, 2nd of June the streets of Rostock near the Baltic resort of Heiligendamm, Germany looked like this some of the time. Have you asked why people all around the world protest against G8 Summits?
In this seaside resort city it is reported this way: "As is now customary for G8 summits, the luxury beachfront hotel on the Baltic coast where US President George W. Bush and his counterparts will hold talks is surrounded by a heavily guarded fence topped with barbed wire. An underwater barrier has been erected to prevent ships approaching the hotel."
The whole country has to stop when he comes to town, right?
They have the protesters (30,000 to 80,000 people) miles away (6 kilometers) from the actual site of the 3-day meetings. The police are still worried because the people vowed to stand between the airport and the meeting sites. I believe that is great! Maybe they can stop the G8 Summit from meeting as people did in Cancun, Mexico.
Saturday, even the Neo-Nazis had time to pose for a picture. Do you think they attended to celebrate their master coming to town? They look so serious, hmm?
