Did anyone remember this guy's birthday this year? Did people remember perhaps, the mental and physical damage he caused in the world? ...maybe the lives he ordered extinguished from existence? Poof! ...gathered up in the night and they were gone...never seen again.
The only news media reference I came up with was from the Houston Chronicle at: www.chron.com/disp/story.mpl/world/4729704.html. There's a comment on how Moscow University ordered a "lockdown" for three days; for fear of violence. Oh, I know! the USA media was too busy!
Each year, the masses of people need a gentle reminder, I believe, that this man was born and what he did or good grief! we might repeat history, don't you think?

With all the crap we have right now, why remember or cover the birth of a man who died so long ago? Especially if, acording to the article, people commit violence on his birthday to honor him? We celebrate Lincolns, Washingtons, Martin Luther Kings birthday... you want us to have a day of mourning for a man that western culture calls evil and the Muslim world largely ignores and denies...
Lets be glad that there are holidays that we don't celebrate and don't cause further rift within our cultures.
I don't think there are Virginia Tech copycat killers who, upon hearing the story, said "oh, that WOULD be a bad a idea." According to the news, dozens of middle, high, and university schools have closed since the VT tragedy after receiving or perceiving threats.
Evil acts only reaffirm good people. They motivate bad people.
How many acts of violence happened in the US because of Hitlers birthday? If it were better reported that people out there use the day to commit violence, I'm sure there would have been more problems here.

;D Sarcasms don't come over, it's my fault because "on the Internet an emotion, (or) emphasize words with italics, bold, and/or underlining..."
