Well this post started out as a News Blast, and one of those posts may still hit the press at some point today on this page. After what I just witnessed though, I had to shift gears slightly.
Today I'd like to bring back a short segment that we at P&M like to call:
"People Who Don't Belong On Television Analyzing News"
Today's Person that doesn't belong on television analyzing the news, is Bill Bennett.
Bill Bennett On MSNBC (MSNBC's Top Headline This Morning)

I'm sorry, I need to break this situation down here, is Bill Bennett being asked to speak intelligently about something on television? Do the producers at MSNBC feel that Bennett has some sort of expertise unknown to the average viewer?
This is Bill Bennett we're talking about here people.

Why surely not THAT Bill Bennett?!?
Indeed, the Bill Bennett that financed a multimillion dollar gambling habit by charging $50,000.00 for sermons, and by selling 'moral instruction manuals' to those who thought he was truly a 'man of god'.
Yes, that's right, the same Bill Bennett who explained to his listeners on his radio show, that, "if you wanted to reduce crime... if that were your sole purpose, you could abort every black baby in this country, and your crime rate would go down."
The very same Bill Bennett who agreed on national television that, 'beheading drug dealers' would be 'morally plausible'.
Yes that's right, the same Bill Bennett who felt that Time Warner was somehow responsible for a nationwide influx of 'gangsta rap' into the lives of American Children.
The same Bill Bennett who has pushed for PNAC advancement for over a decade, and who wanted Bill Clinton to go into Iraq (due to all those WMD's and the growing threat to America, right Bill?)
This is the Bill Bennett who is has been exposed, misrepresenting the CHILDREN of America, exampled here:
'He told me he would not help, because he did not want public schools to obtain new funding, new capability, new tools for success. He wanted them, he said, to fail so that they could be replaced with vouchers, charter schools, religious schools, and other forms of private education.'
- Reed Hundt, Chairman of the FCC from 1993-1997
Bill Bennett is so out of touch with reality, that calling him a man (woman or any other form of human) is a difficult stretch. Most members of the human race actually participate in some extent in actual reality, they read newspapers or gather information about their world first hand. Yet Bill Bennett writes his own version of reality from the biased, racist, and sexist visions in his own mind, and we are expected to accept this trash as rational analysis of the News?
This is absolutely disgusting. This man not only doesn't belong on Television, he doesn't belong in the public eye. This is a truly sick individual, who spreads racist ideas and reinforces ignorance.
Who exactly was it at MSNBC that thought it would be a good idea to hear what Mr. Bennett had to say this morning? How is the country better off, or better informed, from listening to this ridiculous tirade of nonsense? Who, outside of the payroll of Fox News and the Executive Branch possibly lends Bennett any credence whatsoever after his myriad public shamings?
MSNBC should be deeply ashamed of the embarrassment they've made of their news organization this morning. A retraction would be expected from such an organization, a retraction of the entire interview. I'll settle for never seeing his sick face on my television again though MSNBC, that's a step in the right direction.
How about asking someone with, oh I don't know, something productive, or perhaps something relevant to say, onto your television programs?
Now there's a thought...
