So let me get this straight, Bin Laden's niece (pictured above) has not only returned to America after the post 9.11.01 shipping of the entire family out of country by our President, but she's posing in magazines without much on. Don't get me wrong, the girl is attractive, and her photo shoot happened quite some time ago, but the point is this: According to Bush, the Bin Ladens and other Arabs we are supposed to consider evil HATE OUR FREEDOMS. According to Bush, we were attacked 5 years ago yesterday because they hated our freedoms. It certainly doesn't look that way from the above photo. It looks to me like she's enjoying our freedoms quite a bit. It also doesn't look to me like she's masked in a cowl.
So does Bush have anything accurate or relevant to say about Bin Laden since his now infamous 'you know, I just don't spend that much time on him anymore...'?
Some facts to begin today's blast:
1) As of this date, Ossama Bin Laden, whether guilty or innocent of the crimes perpetrated against American Citizens on 9.11.01, has NOT BEEN CAPTURED. He has not been questioned, and to date the FBI has no evidence connecting him to the attacks.
2) The United States Government is otherwise occupied with the espionage of it's own people. The Executive Branch's various arms (CIA, NSA, NRO) are doing this against the official ruling of the Supreme Court that such actions are not only in violation of FISA Law, but in violation of the Constitution itself.
And now for today's news...
FIRST AND FOREMOST: Yesterday ONCE AGAIN, President Bush attempted to tie his ideological 'War on Terror' to his illegal invasion and occupation of Iraq.
"Marking five years since the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks, President Bush made the case for the war in Iraq, saying America has a difficult road ahead." Here is the story:
www.cbsnews.com/stories/2006/09/11/september11/main1992278.shtml?source=RSSattr=Politics_1992278
It's titled: Bush: 'The War Is Not Over'
THE WAR right, The ONE war in Iraq and on Terror? Pardon me while I cite every major newspaper that's published work in the past year to refute the President's ridiculous claims. Is his staff still telling him people are buying this crap?
On a completely different subject, for those of you who are actually USING your brains, I'd like some viewer feedback on this issue. It seems that many State Governments (unlike there Federal counterparts) have actually been able to balance their spending with their needs, and have emerged with a budget surplus. States are individually taking different paths on how to use this surplus. Here are two examples -
Arizona Surplus - Going Back to the People:

Georgia Surplus - Going Into Emergency Fund

I'd like to hear from the readers of this column on what they would do with a budget surplus. If you make a good argument, you may be published in this column. You may submit your thoughts using the form in the sidebar on this page.
Next up a hopeful news item for those interested in Middle East conflict resolution. Palestine has taken the first real steps towards a lasting peace, by forming a coalition Government without outside influence. Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas (the leader of Fatah), and Palestinian Prime Minister Ismail Haniyeh (the leader of Hamas) announced the agreement yesterday.

And finally, the Representative From Wisconsin is at it again, thank goodness. Senator Russ Feingold today introduced the President of the United States and his Administration Staff to a very important document called "Webster's Dictionary".
Feingold properly defines the term 'Facism' as having absolutely nothing to do with global terrorists fighting the United States.
