In this post I talked about the possible underlying reason for the dismissal of Mike Malloy from Air America Radio. All he had been told was that it was a "financial decision". I argue that part of the problem was language- particularly Mike Malloys use of certain explitives and the recent increase in FCC fines that the neo-con controlled Congress passed in June 2006.
Today on the Randi Rhodes show she kept saying things like "I can't say that word."
She wanted to call Rumsfeld a "name"- probably an evil son of a pregnant dog- that's my guess.
No doubt it would have been one of the FCC approved naughty names but clearly this proves that not only our local affiliate but AAR personalities are being asked to watch the explitives because of the financial risk of a $325,000 fine for a single word.
If the Christian Taliban will file a complaint like the one mentioned in my Sunday post then anything is possible with the Bush regime in charge...so I stick by my theory...what do you think?
Tonight I called into AAR with Jon Elliot hosting.
When I called into the Jon Elliot show tonight, David, the call screener who usually was very cool when I would call Mike was really tensed up.
He said- "We are not talking about Mike tonight- stick to your topic please"
That is the FIRST time I have been screened or censored calling an AAR show.
He also said- "... and don't curse on the air"
I found it hard to not call Bush and the neo-cons in Congress evil bastards like I normally would do with Mike.
readers note: it wasn't Jon Elliot censoring the calls it is AAR and Clear Channel managements decision to tell callers not to "curse".
That priviso, at least for me, solidifies my theory about Mike's termination. In the two years I have been calling the Malloy program, and even Randi's show, I have never been told that I cannot say the FCC approved explitives- pregnant dog, ass, and bastard.
Now, both locally and nationally, you can't say them.
Is it really progress if Clear Channel and AAR allow the freedom of speech on the public airwaves to be censored by a fringe group of theocratic lunatics, neo-cons and fake Democrat lawmakers that pander to the fake christians to keep their votes?
It was the risk of fines that was the "financial concern"- with what I was told to say and not say tonight I am certain that was the primary reason for letting Mike go because he refused to be censored on the air.
I will give Elliot credit for one thing- he is the only talk host that I have ever heard read off the names of the dead troops in Iraq- tonight he read off 65 names from August and 5 days into this month there are already 14 troops that have died for nothing in the Bush Crime family's illegal occupation of Iraq.
That is how you support the troops...making sure we get the hell out of there and no more die for oil and territorial control is how you support them. Not by waving the flag for the Bush regime and cheerleading the farcical "war on terror".
