Shortly after September 11, 2001 bush broadcast this statement: "From this point forward the focus of this administration will be to wage a 'war on terror' and against those who commit acts of terror."
Unless bush opens a new front on his phony "war on terror" he cannot disengage from the violence being perpetrated in Iraq -- he has no other foreign or domestic policy to fall back on, unless he wants to start pushing for more tax cuts for the wealthy or doing away with the Social Security system. Neither of these hackneyed themes are very popular right now.
No, bush is stuck with his campaign of terror against Iraq.
As for the 'publican pukes slinking through the halls of Congress, they can't afford to let bush fail in Iraq either. They staked their fortunes to bush's wagon long ago. And that incestuous relationship is reinforced with the black-mailing tactics of the bush/rove treason machine. Each and every 'publican Senator and Representative has taken bribes from bush/rove/abramhoff; if they back away too far, they can easily be tossed under the bus by information "leaks" concerning their misdeeds and crimes.
The only strategy that will suffice for the 'publicans is to force the Dem's to bring the violence in Iraq to an end. By doing so, the blood-bath that is already waiting in the wings in Iraq for the Americans to leave will begin. And the 'publican pukes will claim it is the fault of the Dem's who refused to allow bush's compassionate strategerie to succeed. And when the U.S. economy faulters into a second 'publican Great Depression, the 'publicans will be right there blaming the mess on the dollars spent in a noble cause in Iraq that turned out to be wasted only because the weak-kneed, peace loving Dem's didn't have the stamina to hold on just a little longer and achieve the victory that was within sight just around the corner.
This will be the campaign theme for the Republican Party come 2008: Democrats - weak on defense.
