A USA Day in My Shoes
I awake to the most wonderful sounds of nature; birds in the rainforest, thunder, ocean or rain, for example. They come from my made in Communist China "HoMedics" soothing sound clock.
I push back the comforter also made in China but assembled in the USA.
I listen to the weather report on the stylish "Panasonic" lcd made in China television.
My coffee has started by itself; it's in one of those programmable-the-night-before "Cuisinart Grind and Brew Coffeemakers."
Made in...guess what country? .
We have all had the occasion to read where things have been made or assembled on the products we have in our home, my morning observations are not new to any one of us.
I could start my day without all this unnecessary consumer luxuries, I know. I have be forced into thinking that they will relieve my stress and make my life easier to manage. We can live with less and be normal and happy, but no big, greedy corporation is going to promote those ideas.
I turned to my clothes this morning. The clothes I really do need for warmth and that are not something I can go without. I happened upon this label and smiled widely, as if the whole world was just become a little better: (Picture and it has printed on it:)
This is a clothing label from from a small American company that sells their product in France. Here is the translation of the French part of the label;
Wash with warm water
Use Mild soap
Dry flat
Do not use bleach
Do not dry in the dryer
Do not iron
We are sorry that our president is an idiot
We did not vote for him
